Hi everyone,
Beverly here (yet again). A little while ago I posted and tweeted a call for submissions for American bloggers who wrote or wanted to write a post on their blog about their feelings about the September 11th tragedies and submit them to The Printed Blog Russia. I’d like to personally thank all those who submitted, and to remind everyone that if there were no tangible limitations in life, we would print each and every one of you (as everyone should be heard).
For those of you who anxiously await to see the final product, here it is: (http://issuu.com/bea_ver/docs/tpb4). The Printed Blog Russia has delivered it beautifully and for those who can read Russian it is a real treat. You can download it free.
Below I’ve also posted the translation to the brief introduction I wrote for this commemorative issue from The Printed Blog Russia.
As The Printed Blog Russia moves forward with their commemorative issue dedicated to the
10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, I am both awed and humbled on behalf of all
Americans for the opportunity to showcase the pain, despair, hope, and faith expressed in this
issue. This memorial issue will hopefully unveil the variety in American thought following 9/
11 and represent the ethnic, religious, and mental diversity that gave America the nickname
of “the melting pot” while simultaneously unifying our nation under the single banner of stars
and stripes.
It is difficult to believe a decade has passed. Ten years will always sound like a long period
of time, but September 11th will always feel too recent. As we come nearer and nearer to the
anniversary of the tragedy, Americans are continued to be reminded of the scars left behind
or even still feel the sores from wounds not yet healed. It is, and always will be, a sensitive
subject to those of us who were old enough to recollect the whirlwind of memories, emotions,
and thoughts from that day, and I sincerely hope this topic, though painful, will provide some
comfort to Americans as their own words can reach audiences of The Printed Blog in Russia—
and for this, I am thankful.
Once again, thank you to all who submitted to the The Printed Blog Russia.
-Beverly
